Advice
My advice to a new student taking CS1300 would be to not miss any classes or assignments, If you do this then you will make a good grade.

Website Blog
I really like Stan's website mostly because he has clips from songs that he made himself, they sound pretty good too. Also Jordan's was fun to look at because he had some pretty cool hunting and fishing pictures as well. Finally I liked Lachlan's because of his image map that was actually a map of Australia. This was interesting because you could click on a few cities and find out more about them. If you want to check out my website you can find it at http://www.cs.trinity.edu/~mcallana/.

More Power Point
I really enjoyed Tyler's presentation. I have always been fascinated with shipwrecks and underwater exploration. I always stop on History, Discovery, and National Geographic when there is any kind of shipwrecks and underwater stuff on. It really interesting seeing hat lies on the ocean floor.

Power Point Presentations
The presentations I enjoyed most were Stanton's and Lachlan's. Both of these were very interesting presentations and the presenters were truly interested in what they were researching. Stanton did a good job of explaining the industry and telling us why it interested him. While Lachlan did a good job of keeping it simple with an assortment of pictures. I never had to read his slides just look and listen. For me this is the easiest way to take in information.

Power Point tips
When doing a power point presentation there are a few things to keep in mind. First always have a Title Slide. When you don't put in a title slide no one knows what you are talking about. Second Keep it brief. When there is a lot of words on a page it is had to deduct a main idea. Third make your slides interesting. Don't just use plain slides it just isn't interesting and no one wants to look at it. Fourth use a few graphics. Not only does this help to give audiences a visual it also breaks up reading with observing. And finally don't make the special effects overpower the actual information on the slides. When presenters have too many effects, sounds and transitions it takes away from the information and in some cases confuses the audience. So when doing a power point stick to these and make some good judgement and it will come out fine.

Excel
Excel is a very useful program to so many fields of study and many forms of employment. Through our recent work with excel I feel that I have a greater understanding of the program and the many ways in which it can be used. I have learned many ways to finish the work in excel much faster such as how to drag equations down, use functions and to easily make clear charts and graphs. I am sure that this has increased my human capital and will help me to get and keep and job at numerous different places. I have a new found confidence in my skills with this program and I am positive it will help me in the future.

The picture I chose to evaluate was the sixth one on the slideshow with the British Soldier. I chose this picture because it showed a way that pictures can be manipulated and not harm the meaning of the photo. This picture was originated in Iraq by a Los Angeles newspaper journalist. This photo was manipulated by merging two photos to obtain a better composition. This is a common practice in photography. Many techniques are used to improve a photo this being one of them. The change to the photograph was not harmful because the meaning was not changed and was only done to improve the picture.

I think that Facebook is a great way for friends of any age to keep in touch and up to date. In addition to keeping in touch with friends Facebook provides many great features to help find new friends and interests. I think facebook will be around for awhile and will continue to grow in population and popularity.

Me and Me
My name is Michael Joseph Callanan V. I go by Joey but for simplicity ill answer to Michael. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I love this state and couldn't imagine living in any other except for maybe Alaska. I am a very conservative person when it comes to politics, kind of strange I decided to go to a liberal arts school. When I have the time I enjoy hunting, fishing, working out, and tennis. I do not currently participate in many campus activities, but last semester I played intramural football. My computer experience is very limited. I took Computer Science in high school, but the class was a joke and I gained little if any from it.
